My fiancé and I spontaneously went to The Humane Society of Westchester about a week ago and completely fell in love with little Sailor Moon. The staff was very welcoming and made the adoption process so quick and easily, while also being informative. Thank you to everyone at HSW who cares for Sailor and helped in the adoption process. She is everything we’ve been looking for and more!

Yesterday was our one year "Got Ya Day" for Louie. Louie is our second adoption from the Humane Society of Westchester, and we love them! From the moment we set foot in the door to the moment we walked out, with 4 extra paws, we were treated so kindly by the staff. The facility is beautiful, bright, open and so clean! The process was seamless. (I would recommend making your vet's office aware before you go to the shelter and taking your vet's information with you, it helps move the process along.) Our Louie is FIV+ and the shelter team explained what that means for him and his potential future needs. I was able to ask all my questions and received thoughtful responses. I called a few days later to ask more questions and had a response by the end of day. Watching the staff and volunteers interact with the animals allows you to see how deeply they care for each animal in their care. THANK YOU from another happy family!

I got involved with this shelter many years ago. I started to donate. I adopted my pit bull from the shelter. She was a senior. The shelter took her in and her tail had to be amputated and her eye was ruptured. She was made to fight and be a breeder. A volunteer from the shelter would take her to a senior citizen homes to visit. I saw how they care for the animals. They trap neuter and release feral cats. Thats how I started fostering kittens for years. It takes a lot of love and caring to work at a shelter. When I come by to donate or adopt another animal the shelter is always clean and the animals are healthy. The employees have been very professional, caring, polite and understanding. When my dog died they were very understanding and supportive. Tiffany the manager shows that’s she’s involved with her job. She has a huge heart. She’s been very supportive when I had to put my animals to sleep. Also, she helped me get another four legged friend. Beverly the lady that answers the phone is very professional, helpful and knows her job. They do care about who adopts their animals.Ive adopted three dogs from the shelter. The pre adoption form tell you that. They renovated the place

Definitely a "makes you feel good shelter!" Bright and clean. Decorated with professional photos of many of the rescued alumns, including one of my own. All ages with big and small dogs. Many cats and kittens (in season). Small animals & birds are sometimes available, too. Knowledgeable staff and supported by many volunteers who make sure the pet you meet and adopt is ready for the transition to your new home. Remember: adopt, don't shop!

We adopted the two most adorable cats! They staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is clean. The adoption fees are very reasonable. We had a fantastic selection to choose from, and they really tried to match you with the perfect fur baby.
